I bet you never knew the real power of your spice cabinet. Herbs and spices make everything taste great, but they’ve also been used for centuries for medicinal purposes. Unfortunately, we don’t like to eat or drink them as much as we should, and that’s where a lot of problems begin.

There are numerous teas to drink that can lower stress levels, remove toxins from your body, and boost your immune system with disease-fighting nutrients. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea by combining one ounce of herb and one cup of water. If you’re not into tea, you can take capsules and tinctures, or add more of these medicinal herbs into your cooking.

Incorporate herbs in your bath and skin routines to reap their medicinal benefits – they can relax sore muscles, moisturize your skin, detoxify your body, increase circulation, open pores, and help you sweat out a fever. I like including herbs in a bath or shower with soaps, bath teas, masks, salts, and scrubs. Try different herbs and combinations to de-stress, relax, and revive.

I’ll be posting some great herbal remedies and some of my favorite recipes, so keep checking back for new content. I’ll also make you aware of any contraindications, so you can feel safe as you explore the power hiding in your own spice cabinet. If you’re struggling with a larger health issue, feel free to contact me for a consultation.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. This is a great mantra for health and wellness. Your body will appreciate the little bit of TLC it needs to function properly (just like your car).
